how to avoid the overwhelm

Do you ever feel stressed and grumpy during the β€œmost magical time of the year”?

Most of us come into the Christmas/holiday season with high hopes of fun and yet we try and cram so much into our already full schedules that we end up with overtired kids and parents.

Or maybe it’s just me? πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Either way, what I’ve realized is there is always going to be more we could do…
✨ More Christmas activities
✨ More crafts
✨ More baking
✨ More photo ops
✨ More gifts

But what our kids (and we) really want is more quality time with the ones we love.

And so, I’ve learned that making a priorities list leading up to the holiday season and intentionally scheduling them on our calendar helps my brain know we will do the things that are most important to us, and then anything else is bonus. We’ve also learned to say β€œno” to things that go over and above what we are able to handle as a family because when we look back, we want happy memories. Not tired and stressed memories.

So, if you needed this reminder mama…this Christmas season can be different if you want it to.

You’ve got this!
